Introduction

Reyes Family

Seeing the necessity of our Community and knowing that only God can solve the problems that hurt it so much. The Holy Ghost moved us to begin a job, At that moment we did not have a foundation for the Vision that God has for this City.

Having a few days gone by and being in prayer. Five (5) people united at the home of Tomas and Dora Alicia Reyes, a ministry is born; "Juan 14:6", bible verse where God shows the way to us in the month of April, 1988

After three (3) months of the meeting at the home of the Reyes Family, which is located at 80212 Hinds Avenue, North Hollywood, California 91605; God blessed that small group, in which there were no longer five (5) people but thirty (30). This made us look for help in Councils already formed. By us not being able to find such help, God inspired us to rent place.

Fist Site

Beginning from June 1st, 1998, a site was found located at 5016 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601, with a capacity for 100 people. There was a Leasing contract developed with the representative of those premises, Roberto Quezada. The rent was agreed to $2,600 monthly

Given the growth of the Ministry and what God was doing, transforming drug addicts, gang members and alcoholics, a vision was born also to help our Community. Besides saving souls for Jesus Christ, we would help the people to leave that addiction that is so harmful to life. To do this, it was necessary to go out and look for these people offering them the Eternal Salvation and their physical, material, moral and Spiritual recovery. By that time there was already a growth of members amounting to around 100 people.

Two and a half years after meeting at the first site, we were counting on a growth of another 100 people. There was a necessity to look for another ample place, to be able to follow the objective which God had put in our hearts; to continue helping the Community, where families and marriages were being divided by the effects of sin. This Aid has being consisted of dictating special conferences on Drug addiction, Marriage and Alcoholism, or simply, to go out and preach the Gospel and to speak to the people of the "Good News of Salvation". Which has been of great blessing, because the Lord has been glorified in this Work by opening the doors to follow ahead.

Second Site

Starting January 1st, 1990, the church moved to 11120 Chandler Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601 with a capacity for 150 people. Signing a second Lease Contract with the representative Mr. John Zemansky, paying $3,500 monthly.

The Contract subscribed in this place went to a term of Three (3) years, that is to say, from the first of December, 1990 to the 30th of November 1993 which could not be concluded although the work continued growing then already counting on 150 members. Then we got a visit from the City's Fire Department to inspect the building and came to the conclusion that the premises was not apt to host meetings. It did not have an emergency exit as a security measure and that made it necessary to look for another site. Then in December of 1992, the leasing contract was terminated.

Helping the ones in need

We try to serve the Community in different social areas, with the only aim to long for God, so that through his infinite mercy, He changes us to a better life, of love, peace and harmony and mainly, to save our souls to be worthy to enter His Kingdom.

Within that intention, there's also a great Vision that is the creation of a Rehabilitation Center for the Drug addict and Alcoholic. As well as to create a Day Care Center for the children of those families and mothers that work.

Given the emergency provided by the previous site, it was necessary to ask for the aid of Pastor Javier Carrera, so that he would allow us to use his premises where is the Church "Ebene-zer" resided; 10325 Glenoack Blvd, Pacoima, CA 91331. We held meetings for around two and a half months. Time where we rejoiced in the presence of the Lord and experienced a harmonious fraternity with our brothers and sisters.

Our perseverance in the search of our a new site continued, due to our urgency to find our own place to keep in the Work of God. Circumstances that affected greatly to the Ministry by having some members retire to join other councils.

Fourth Site

From March 1st, 1993; Pentecostal Church "Juan 14:6" was located in its new site, 7145 Vineland Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91605 ,in front of a Price Club store.

We signed a leasing contract with Mr Norman Bradley Hess for three years with a monthly lease of $2,400. We met at this place for almost 2 years, a time that let us start a series of projects and visions that the Lord had placed in our hearts, and that could only be started by lifting a second site in Vancouver, Canada.

Our work back home was interrupted by an arrival of City Inspectors. After reviewing the site, they informed us that the premises did not have sufficient parking space for the members. There were several attempts at repairing this problem, but we were forced to leave. It was then that we started to search for another site with this requirements.

Fifth Site

The Word of God tells us in Leviticus 26:9: "For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. "

With this principle and guidance from the Lord, we arrived March 1st, 1995 to a new place; 9645 Tujunga Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91605. It was part of Linzer Products, INC. A company that was dedicated to the elaboration of paint brushes and rolls and all that concerned maintenance tools for homes and buildings. Seeing that it met all that was required from the City, specially what concerned the space for parking. We signed a leasing contract for 4 years, at a monthly rent of 2,680.

At this site, we continued with the vision and projects such as the following:

1. We begin church “LUZ y VERDAD” Pentecostés “Juan 14:6” # 3 with Pastor CARLOS A. FLORES, at 13750b Foothill Boulevard, Sylmar, CA 91342. It was closed in February 2001.
2. We begin church Iglesia Pentecostés “Ríos de Agua Viva” # 4 with Pastor MARCELINO PINZON NORIEGA at 13643 Vanowen St. Van Nuys, CA 91403. Council that did not prosper for it was closed soon after.
3. We continued the social service that helped financially poor people in Tijuana, Mexico and the jail in that place.
4. There was material and spiritual aid sent to "el Manadero" and " El Reino De Los Niños" in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Aid that consisted of free eye exams to the people in need by Dr. MICHAEL COLVARD. A Professional Ophthalmologist. There was also aid by bringing clothes, shoes and toys.

Nevertheless, after two years of working at this site in Tujunga Ave, in June of 1997, City Inspectors came to inspect the premises. This time around the repairs presented were vanished and some were fixed. The inspection took almost one year. Thanks to the support of many professionals who identified themselves with the Ministry. Because we were in the middle of and Industrial Area, the City posed the following question: : why were we authorized to operate like Church in the middle of an industrial area when a Christian Church cannot be developed in one.

This is where a search of guidance from the Holy Ghost is born to resolve our problems with the City authorities. We began fasting and praying, as well watches. Being in that process of find, the Lord puts it in our hearts to begin to look for, no longer a commercial or industrial place but a Building that is appropriate for Church. God, building in our Ministry, let's us know a real state agent named Mr. TOM RILEY recommended by Pastor JOSE LUIS AMEZQUITA from the Pentecost church "El New Pacto". Mr. Tom Riley visited our Offices, to see if we were a serious Organization. Knowing us already, we let us know of a church on sale at 6903 Radford Avenue, North Hollywood, CA 91605. We proceeded to make a visit to that site. Being shown the outside and inside of the premises, our hearts filled with feelings of joyce and happiness to see what the Lord was showing us. We left that place and at night we returned and holding the bars of the gate, we prayed asking God to show us if this site was the one He would provide for us.

This building was not on sale, but eight days later, the real state agent called us telli8ng us that there could be an agreement on a purchase .

With this news, we felt motivated to pray to the Lord and began negotiating. This lasted about 2 months.

Final Site

For our surprise, negotiations were not easy because God tested us until the last moment. But at the end, God opened doors, and not having any money at the time we were in prayer, that is in those 2 months. God provided the money to be able to buy our Temple.

For our move and arrangements to our new Temple, the first 15 days from July 1998 were used. Soon, we took care in carrying out our First Service of Thanks on friday July 24, 1998. Date for which special invitations were sent out to different Pastors from the San Fernando Valley, with the purpose of sharing our joy, and thank the Lord for such a great event.

At our final site, we continued with the initiated project and visions already beginning with more meditation and the guidance from the Lord. More in times where we acquired a big commitment such as paying for the building and paying our credit payments that resulted extremely great. Nevertheless, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month in the 3 years that we have been here, we have seen the miracle, the mercy, the blessing and the hand of God in this wonderful work. This demonstrates to us, verifies to us and makes us follow ahead in what is under his direction and control.

Within the spiritual, materialistic, social and moral activities, we can mention some as the following:

1. We continued working on Iglesia "Luz y Verdad" Pentecostés Juan 14:6 # 3 with Pastor Carlos A. Flores.
2. We also continued with the support of this ministry, to aid a project that was started by Deacon Jose Siordia Flores, Missionary of the year 1997, in San Luis Soyatlan, Jalisco Mexico. Due to a special event that happened in his spiritual life.
3. Brother José Manuel Barahona and Sister Carmen Roxana Ventura were the one of the first couple, in Sunday 16 of August, 1998, to be wed in holy matrimony in our new temple.
4. Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of July, 1999, we celebrated the 11th anniversary of this ministry. This also gave us an opportunity to carry out the inauguration of this beautiful temple which i personally have been longing for. We also had the pleasure of having the Word of God delivered by Evangelist Alberto Mottesi.
5. Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th of February 2000, requested previously some time in advanced, we qualify to attend a training seminar by "Children's Hunger Fund". A Foundation that is supported through various donations of items and food to many Organizations and Christian Churches in Southern California, México, Central America and Europe. With this training received and a previous study required by this foundation, we qualified to receive and distribute those donations. Thus, in March 2000 we begin the ministry " Dios Pan De Vida" whose mission is "To serve the needed and bring the message of salvation to the community in the San Fernando Valley."
6. The 20th, 21st, and 22nd of July 2000, we are able to offer our support in a great crusade entitled "Let's Save our Family" in the San Fernando Valley with Evangelist Alberto Mottesi. This activity, in addition to the great victory reached, a Union of Pastors is formed that worked arduously in that Crusade. This arises the Association of Pastors in the San Fernando Valley". In which board, Pastor Rosales is named Secretary.

7. El Salvador

   During the earthquakes that took place the 13th of January and 13th of February in 2001 at El Salvador in Central America, there was a necessity to help the victims of that catastrophe. This Association made several activities with the purpose of collecting funds for the damages that were caused by the first earthquake; having programmed a Special Service with Dr Carlos Moran for monday, the 12th of February at 7:00 pm. Not knowing there would be another quake of the same proportions in the same country. the next day.
8. This is how the Pastor's Association and "Children's Hunger Fund" united even more to send 4 Vans with food and all classes of aid to that country. This trip was made by the Pastor's Association's Vice President Pastor Rodolfo Alatorre and Secretary Pastor Roberto Rosales with many others as well as representatives from "Children's Hunger Fund". They all traveled together from the 1st to the 7th of April 2001 to distribute all that aid.
